Framework
Extended Levels
A continuation of the structural framework beyond the initial reference levels.
Extending Structure Beyond the Initial Thresholds
The Intra-Day Momentum Method defines additional levels extending outward from the session open in both directions.
These extended levels build on the initial framework by creating additional reference points beyond the first threshold. Their purpose is not to add arbitrary markings to a chart, but to provide a more complete structure for studying how price behaves once initial levels have already been reached.
Why Extended Levels Matter
Initial levels establish the first layer of structure. Extended levels allow the framework to continue beyond that first interaction.
This makes it possible to study:
- continuation beyond the initial threshold
- range expansion relative to the open
- behavior following strong directional movement
- conditions associated with fast moves and deeper extension
Extended levels do not replace the initial levels. They expand the framework so that additional intraday behavior can be measured consistently.
Range Coverage and Structural Significance
Historical study of the extended levels showed that a large percentage of price movement could be understood within the range defined by the existing structure.
This was important for two reasons. First, it suggested that the framework was already capturing a substantial portion of daily movement without requiring excessive additional levels. Second, it showed that extension could be studied in a disciplined way rather than treated as undefined continuation.
The significance of the extended levels is not that they guarantee a future outcome, but that they allow range behavior to be evaluated within a structured system.
From Extension to Behavioral Research
Once extended levels are defined, they allow further research into how markets behave after initial structure is reached.
This includes study of:
- whether movement continues in the same direction
- whether price stalls or stabilizes after extension
- whether a move becomes statistically unusual in speed or distance
- whether extended structure helps define probable range endpoints
This is where the framework begins to connect directly to deeper research into fast moves, continuation behavior, and daily high/low analysis.
The Role of Extended Levels in the Framework
Extended levels serve as an intermediate layer between the initial structure and more advanced research applications.
They support:
- continuation studies
- fast move analysis
- pattern definition
- outcome-based range research
In that sense, they are not an isolated feature. They are part of the broader structure that allows intraday behavior to be studied progressively.
